My Story | Becoming Moe Ari.

My story is not simple and sweet but I am going to give you the short and skinny of how I got here. None of my identities make me who I am but they definitely inform the heck out of my experience. If you are new to my journey then here is a little story…

I was assigned female at birth.

In our society, that meant that I was also assigned a life plan and a role before I decided who I would be in the world. Like most of us, I spent my childhood trying to be who other people told me to be, rather than who I came here knowing that I am.

I spent a lot of years trying to live up to other people’s expectations of me.

I received so much validation for moving through the world like this that I forgot how to live up to my own expectations. This created a nagging inside of me that I could not escape. I wasn’t living authentically and it was leaving me depressed and blocked creatively. I wanted to be happy with my success but I could not access joy. I was at a peak in my life and I could not enjoy it. I was determined to understand why.

I am Transgender Non-Binary.

I could not have joy until I allowed for the pain of releasing what no longer served me. I had to lose the facade. I had to unlearn how to be anyone other than Moe Ari. And once I realized that my authenticity was being hidden behind constant validation and the need for other people’s approval, I went on a journey to recover the lost parts of myself. I didn’t know who I was as Moe Ari but I jumped right into the uncertainty of figuring it out.

Perpetually becoming | Moe Ari.

The journey of radical authenticity never stops. When you think you know, you have to allow yourself to get curious again and start asking “what part of me wants to have all the answers?”. For me it was a part that was scared of uncertainty, rejection and change. Without change, there is no growth or evolution. Evolution is the basis of survival.

The journey of Authenticity has been scenic and special.

In embracing myself as Moe Ari, I had to relearn all the beautiful gifts I had buried in my past. I reconnected with meditation and spirituality. I found love and sacred partnership. I reconnected with plant medicine and the earth. That’s where I also found a balance within myself that keeps me accountable to expressing myself authentically at all times. I’m still a work in progress, of course.

I hope to always be in progress.

I’ve found that our authenticity dies when we get to the place where we think we know everything about ourselves. In order to live, we have to be open to the unknown, the birthplace of creating. When the earth was just a glimmer of light in a vast dark universe, there was infinite potential waiting to be created. I figure I want to be something like that void. A blank canvas of infinite creation. I learned not ever to think we have “found ourselves.” My gift to the world is the knowledge that we do not find; we create our own authenticity.

Today, I’ve turned my pain into my purpose.

I share my messages of radical authenticity & unconditional love as a therapist, public speaker, and writer! I help other people release limiting beliefs as they create their most authentic lives. I’ve shifted from being a traditional talk therapist to traveling the world and sharing a specific message about unconditional self-love, self-compassion, self-healing, radical authenticity, and alignment through my public speaking, online courses, and other platforms.

You can find me reading books, listening to podcasts, learning about non-violent communication, doing meditations with others, and offering my expertise as a consultant and public speaker. If you want to work with me, reach out to me! I would love to hear from you.

Moe Ari-ish.

Who I am today is still on a journey of uncovering my greatest gifts as I invite others to journey with me to co-create the kind of love we want to see in the world.

And so it is. Connect with me today!
